Ampleforth & Hovingham Surgeries announcement

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Dr. Alix Jimenez and Dr. Deane Jacobs from the practice. Both doctors have received the opportunity to pursue other interests and opportunities outside of general practice.

Dr. Jimenez and Dr. Jacobs have been invaluable members of our team, providing exceptional care and dedication to our patients over the years. Their contributions have been greatly appreciated by both colleagues and patients alike, and they will be sorely missed.

We understand that many of you have built strong relationships with Dr. Jimenez and Dr. Jacobs, and we want to assure you that we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition. Our remaining team of dedicated healthcare professionals will continue to provide the high standard of care you have come to expect from us.

We wish Dr. Jimenez and Dr. Jacobs well in their future careers and thank them for the years of service and dedication to the practice.

If anyone would like to send a personal card we will ensure they reach Dr. Jimenez and Dr. Jacobs.

We are excited to announce Dr. Michael Thompson will be joining the practice in August. Some of our patients may have already met Dr. Thompson when he completed part of his GP training with us in 2024.

Friends and Family June 2024

How Did We Do?

We received a total of 295 responses to questionnaires following appointments at the surgery in June 2024.  We would like to thank patients for taking time to complete these, and a summary of the results and a selection of the positive comments from our patients is below.  We will be looking further at comments where issues with our service were raised to see where we can improve.

"Super support from all at the surgery. Very helpful making appointment and excellent support from the GP. Not rushed, listened to my experiences and offered very appropriate ongoing care."

"Unfortunately due to staff sickness my appointment with the nurse needed to be rearranged but as I had a need to see someone with a potential ear infection I was given an appointment with a member of the team who was able to treat me."

"The nurse was just lovely, met me with a smiling  friendly face and I felt very comfortable talking to her."

"Team was very helpful and responsive to a short notice request."
